Listened to the new Billy Woods record around three times today. 2015 has been really good so far, this one'll land in the top three im thinking.

I feel like this one was really oriented towards the fans of his. He gets really reflexive on this album and kind of plays on the egotism of hip hop itself by making this album almost entirely self referential. We hear beats from his other albums incorporated into the production, and Billy Wkods makes a stream of consciousness display of phrases and themes that he plays on in other songs. The title is brilliant and keeps with the theme of the album pretty well, because he almost takes a William S. Burroughs approach by taking slices of his former work and incorporating it into a new animal.
I love how much Woods' lyricism lends to analysis as well.

Natural Snow Buildings "Beyond The Veil" Natural Snow Buildings "Dance of The Moon and The Sun" I've been going on a massive Isengrind, Twinsistermoon, and Natural Snow Buildings kick recently. I was looking for more of this kind of stuff for a long time, droney folk music with a really airy and lonely atmosphere with tons of layers. Just, ARGHHHHHH, it's all I have been listening to the past few days. Massive props to Mondo. |

Moodie Black—Nausea (2014) I saw Goofle praising their new EP and decided to check this out before I checked that out. I'm partway through my first listen and damn is this good! Fuzzy, noisy hip hop like a more post punk inflected Dalek. What's not to like? |

This band was played in plug last night, and I had to get these albums. I even paid for them. I believe Carpe played them, so thank you for playing them! These are all fantastic.
