I'm having a hard time with this album. I was a huge fan of Dead Roots Stirring and Lore is quite a step forward stylistically and technically, but it's a step in a direction I wasn't expecting. Did it win you over right away or did it have to grow on you?

I just listened to the Jenny Death half of this today, I heard "On GP"a few weeks ago and loved it, got really excited for the whole album, but it really didn't stick with me as much as other releases did on first listen. "On GP" is still fantastic, but I need to give it a few more listens to decide.

Spinning the new Steven Wilson album "Hand Cannot Erase" for the first time right now. So far KILLER and the perfect follow up to Raven.

Pile - You're Better Than This (2015) The Boston, MA post-hardcore/indie rock band's fourth album dropped this month, and it's good! Their dynamic quiet-loud-quiet sound reminds me of Harkonen (based on vocals, sneer, and general Pacific Northwest vibe), the versatility of bands like Modest Mouse, Pixies, and Built to Spill, and midwestern emo. They've got the 90s down pat and this is a great addition to their discography.
