Father John Misty is an average band making average music to me. Nothing stands out as notable, gripping, interesting or even overly aesthetically pleasing. Maybe I would like it more if I gave it a few more spins... but probably not.

Vision Fortune - Mas Fiestas con el Grupo Vision Fortune (2013) Good experimental/psychedelic/drone album. I checked out their 2015 release and moved on to this one. They don't sound like the cover. Press Charges - Press Charges (2014) Dunk Murphy, aka Sunken Foal, offers up his fresh beats with samples of soul classics from Smokey Robinson & The Miracles and the like. A few tracks featured some female vocals, some reggae. The overall vibe is very Deep House due to the vocals, with chill melodic IDM backdrop. As described by the man himself, "Vintage synths and analogue drum machines backing sampled soul acapellas. Subverted harmonies, dancing arpeggios and laid back snapping rhythms underpinning some cautious pads and echoing vocals." Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (1977) I'd heard many of the tracks before but never listened to the whole album. My girlfriend bought the vinyl this weekend and it's quite good. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly (2015) Listening to this now for the first time. Not high on my anticipated release list, but for some reason I decided to put it on today. Pretty good so far, which is essentially how I felt about his last album. I haven't listened to that one in probably two years. I don't listen to that much current hip-hop and really don't enjoy excessive use of the N-word and sex organs, but it's otherwise enjoyable for the most part.
