I've never really cared for TGD before now either, Workingman's Dead won me over with New Speedway Boogie, Easy Wind, Casey Jones, and Cumberland Blues. From what I've been reading they were notorious for changing up their style each album, do they have any more material outside of Workingman's Dead that is equally as energetic and twangy? I'm not big on ballads.

Sounds like Blues From Allah and Shakedown Street would work well for you. They did a live album with Bob Dylan Called Dylan and the Dead which is almost too twangy, you might enjoy that also.

Nice, I'm on the case. Thanks.
Looks like Blues For Allah has a lot more critical acclaim than Shakedown, I'm scoping that out first.

Yeah that album and American Beauty usually get the most acclaim for some reason. I enjoy pieces of them all, even Terrapin Station which usually gets the back of the newspaper so to speak.

Kuupuu "Lumen Tähden"

More Finnish stuff to plug in my ears, I really love the scene that has churned out artists like her Tsembla, and Lau Nau to name a few. This really reminds me of Fursaxa's earlier work, and it's just a gorgeous record physically and sonically. Beautiful laminated gatefold with a heavy (at least 180g) record with probably the smoothest cut edges ever.

One egotistical little fecker but damn this sounds good. Jon Spencer meets Dr Feelgood. Dirty, scuzzy blues inspired rock. Completely underproduced which is fine by me.

Bought and heard loads more but that will do for now!

I remember catching them in San Francisco back in 2007 the night before a friend and I saw The Police. It was at this little dive bar in the industrial district and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to, it completely blew the Police show out of the water.

That being said, I don't think the band has much range, but for when you just want something in the vein of AC/DC but a little bit more modern they really fit the bill. I do like Danko Jones as a person and radio personality though, dude has a great taste in metal. I kind of wish he, George Stroumboulopoulos, and Nardwuar would do a podcast together...

Loving this so far. Really happy with the direction this went in. Instant favorite.
