A lot of people are baggin' on them because it's a little less lo-fi than their debut, but the added elements of trap and grime are actually a great fit for their style (and especially her voice). I'm into it.

Yo La Tengo - And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out

The 3rd band I'll be knocking off my backlog for tonight. This particular band piqued my interest after hearing so much about them and who they're compared to. Their sound turned out entirely different than I expected going into it. There's a distinct likable style and the bass in a lot of these songs is continually sucking me into a different state of mind. I'm digging this in a different way than I thought I would. Whoever compared this to Modest Mouse, why? Thanks, though.

Some of the most blazing guitar playing I've listened to in a while. Poland is certainly in my top 10.

Fave Megadeath guitarist for sure.

Same here. Friedman's great but Poland is far more original with his style. Have you heard Damn the Machine?

Poland founded them with his brother. Good stuff, right up your alley too.

The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree

Really friggin' love this guys voice and I'm a sucker for everything folk, so of course this is an instant favorite. I cannot wait to go through this discography.

^^^

I know his touring guitarist pretty well. Says that with Jeff it's what you see is what you get. He's "the dude" in real life too.
