From the weekend:
http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/f1f0f42bafa...84/2280529.jpg Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago (2007) Never listened to this from front to back - wasn't very interested in it when it came out but started warming up to some tracks over the past year. We got our turntable hooked up finally and played this from my girlfriend's vinyl collection. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/cbacff48f3b...08/1916774.jpg Rex - 3 (1997) More vinyl from the lady's collection, never even heard of this band. After a little RYM research, I learned that the drummer is the same as June of 44's, and that he was also Codeine's and Mice Parade's drummer. This is good, slowcore I suppose. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/1035afc3727...6e/5448507.jpg Ultimate Painting - Ultimate Painting (2014) Played this once over the weekend and again this morning. Good jangly/indie pop out of England, featuring one of the guys from Veronica Falls which I don't think I've ever listened to. I really enjoyed it during my second spin, and was reminded of bands like The Moles, The Feelies, and The Bats. Maybe they should have called themselves The Paintings. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/ce3ffafe765...70/5117930.jpg Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks - Enter the Slasher House (2014) I think it was during my trip to Europe last June that I first listened to this, and this is just my second listen. It's ok. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/7acbf4f6b5a...de/2667835.jpg Simon & Garfunkel - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme (1966) Another from the lady's vinyl collection. It was her dad's, and she's been listening to this very record since she was 12. It's my favorite S&G album. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/031e2cd080c...66/2347830.jpg June of 44 - Tropics and Meridians (1996) More girlfriend vinyl! |

And Sidewinder, that June of 44 album is good stuff. I only listened to it for the first time recently (I think because you mentioned it in your top 10s journal?), but it's excellent. |

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - Spanish Dance Troupe The name drew me in. Of course it's folk. Pretty good so far. |
Picked up these today:
Misfits - S/T (Collection I) Annihilator - Alice in Hell |

I'm surprised I didn't have this album on my computer already. I have a physical copy of it, but I guess I didn't put it on my computer or iPod. It's there now though. |
