Yeah, that Ought album is awesome, but just as awesome and less talked about is their Once More With Feeling EP. The first two songs might be their best.

Alright awesome I'll be listening.

I second his recommendation since that groups awesome. Also check out Talking Heads and The Fall since they're massive influences on Ought (but you probably have already).

I like a lot of Talking Heads stuff, but The Fall I've only a bit from.

Literally just finished listening to this. Weird.

It really is great, though.

The Fall are incredible. They have a ton of stuff, but the five albums I'd say are essential, if you want my recommendations, are Live at the Witch Trials, Grotesque (get the version with the "How I Wrote Elastic Man" and "Totally Wired" singles tacked onto the front), Hex Enduction Hour, Perverted by Language, and This Nation's Saving Grace.

I'm definately going to have to check some of their stuff out, I've heard nothing but good things.

Oh and btw I'm listening to the Ought album right now, and yeah its awesome can't believe I haven't heard it before.

Well it did just come out this year, it probably just slipped under your radar. I don't think I listened to it until last month.

And I just got five or six songs into this and had to give up:

He Is Legend, Heavy Fruit. This was kinda-proggy, kinda-post-hardcore hard rock/metal/whatever. I dunno, I heard that it was one of the best metal albums of the year... and maybe I've just gotten over hard rock as a genre, or maybe I'm a big *******, but I thought it was boring as ****. Listening to Pallbearer now to cleanse my palate of bad rock.

This is now a hybrid crossover albums you've heard today/Ought fan forum.
