 'Tis be my plan, any good places to start?

They only have two albums. Both are highlights of the genre and the period. Both worth checking out.

The Woods is their best for me, by a great deal. Incredible album.

Awesome I'm actually excited to listen to their stuff seeing how much I loved this Viet Cong album.

And I've heard tThe Woods a s supposed to be awesome I just didn't know if that was a good place to start.

The Woods is great but seriously just listen to them all chronologically.

Machine 01-17-2015 06:58 PM

Alright that sounds good, thanks man.

It's not exactly complicated music where you have to start at a specific point. All the albums are fun and musically sound. Chronological is always a good idea though.

The Water[s] by Mick Jenkins

god dammit im so obsessed with this. fav hip hop album of the 2010s ive decided right now. "post Kendrick" is how ive heard it described which is adequate i guess but idk its just so flluuuuiiid and better than anything kendricks done imo (maybe not as technically good but who gives a shit)

James 01-17-2015 07:17 PM

Is Kendrick really so important that 'post-Kendrick' is a legitimate label?

Ninetales 01-17-2015 07:19 PM

I don't love him as much as a lot of people, but I kind of see him as the face of hip hop atm

Me neither. I wouldn't say he's innovative. He's been weird as **** lately too. Defending Iggy Azalea, talking about God a lot. Guy is going to end up like Nas imo.
Well actually Lupe Fiasco recently called him 'the new Lupe'. Which sums it up well.

I donno Kendrick can spit I think that's his main appeal. I love some of his songs like Backstreet Freestyle or Swimming Pools so I could see him coming out with a better album. although most of his post-GKMC has been meh in my eyes
