Panopticon - Roads To The North
Thantifaxath - Sacred White Noise Botanist - VI: Flora Been trying to listen to more black metal so I thought these would be a good place to start, boy was I right I'm loving every one of these my favorite being the Thantifaxath. Andrew Jackson Jihad - People Who Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World Andrew Jackson Jihad - Knife Man Daily dose of AJJ, and of course I have to play along to them on guitar. Mac DeMarcco - Salad Days Tool - Lateralus Hopped back on the Tool train again recently, forgot how good they are. And Mac DeMarco is just an artist who's music I'm very fond of. Tyler, The Creator - GOBLIN God its been months since I've heard this, and wow I'm really surprised at how bad it sounds. A lot of the songs are so weak that the good ones almost don't ever make up for it. Gonna listen to WOLF again soon because it's been a while for that one too, but I think that one actually good. |
^ Panopticon, nice.

Hottest Hits Vol 3 A little comp from the 60s of some under the radar reggae and ska. A friend gave me this record several months ago but I wasn't able to listen to it until I got my new turntable for Christmas. Good stuff. |
I don't remember how I came across this today but I immediately recognized this track from the Tony Hawk Underground soundtrack, a game I probably haven't played in 7 or 8 years. Checked out the entire album and I'm ****ing stoked, on my third consecutive listen.

It's only been 17 hours or so from my last post, but here's what I've been listening to in that time span. Mostly new stuff to me.
Ani DiFranco - Ani DiFranco (singer/songwriter, liked) Arcade Fire - Funeral (indie rock, loved, especially the first track, listened to it before but don't remember) Beirut - The Flying Club Cup (i don't even know, but loved) Beirut - Gulag Orkestar (i don't even know, but loved) Brian Eno - Apollo (ambient, loved) Codeine - Frigid Stars (slowcore, liked, had some great moments) Grandaddy - Sumday (indie rock, fantastic) Grandaddy - Under the Western Freeway (indie rock, fantastic and I already listened to it before) Molly Drake - Molly Drake (singer/songwriter, liked) Neurosis - A Sun That Never Sets (insert100genreshere-metal, liked) Opeth - Blackwater Park (insert100genreshere-metal, liked) The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls (Dark Cabaret, liked) Vashti Bunyan - Lookaftering (singer/songwriter, liked) Favorite of the day: Grandaddy - Under the Western Freeway I predict Grandaddy becoming one of my top bands in 2015. Incredibly beautiful music, just yes. |
Bought a bunch of CDs today:
The Velvet Underground & Nico (45th Anniversary Remaster) Elliott Smith - Figure 8 Nirvana - Bleach The Stooges - The Stooges Sonic Youth - Goo The Roots - Things Fall Apart Nirvana - Bleach I've already heard The Velvet Underground & Nico and Bleach, the rest are new to me. Looking forward to listening to them, I've heard good things about them all. |
Grandaddy were a great band. Sumday and Sophtware Slump are my favorites from them.
|
Brian Eno's ambient music is great as well. Music for Airports is my favourite from him (not counting collabs).
