Starting off the day with some Acid King after jamming over their albums for an hour last night.
It's a Busse Woods and Zoroaster king of day.

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass (2007)

Meh.

Steffi - Power of Anonymity (2014)

I'm sure this sounds great in a club when you're tripping, but just to listen to this sober? No, thanks.

Tony Allen - Secret Agent (2009)

Afrobeats forever!

Aesop Rock - Skelethon (2012)

All right. I'm done with Aesop Rock for the time being. He's good hip-hop, but you have to think hip-hop is good first. Way too much chest-thumping for me. I think I've lost my taste for hip-hop.

I appreciate it for what it is, and I like the more organic take on electronic music- it all feels very real, like the artist stole snippets of time and space and put it all together. I like the jazzy samples and some of the songs are truly gorgeous. But it's just so looooong. I mean I know it's an experimental electronica album and all, but God, I was falling asleep. Maybe I'm missing something, but I really don't intend to listen to it again. I'm off to more interesting ambient records.
