I still don't understand the difference between grindcore and death metal (or even metalcore?) but godammit I know this ain't black metal. I like the punk element to it but find myself wanting the songs to be longer?

Slightly related to the above i recently downloaded
Both are damn good! Grindcore is for the most part death metal but faster, more aggressive and with harsher vocals. Short songs generally. |

Ah I get it now. Death's 'Scream Bloody Gore' is certainly more conventional thrash-y song format, they are great though. My younger brother came for a visit and brought his mate who's a reformed metalhead; he basically gave me his hard drive and I asked him to explain all the extreme metal sub-genres. Pig Destroyer are the way forward. There are some great interviews with Napalm Death on the 'tube aswell, those cheeky brummies!

Jesus christ it is rocking my world. It's the first album of its type to really get to me, i'm hooked. That riff in Heathen Temple, while simple, blows me away.
