Songs: Ohia - The Magnolia Electric Co. (2003)
A dark and introspective alt-country/indie rock/whatever the hell album. Perfect for lazing back at night, drinking a whiskey and reflecting. Sadly their frontman Jason Molina died last year as a result of alcoholism.

Duster - Stratosphere (1998)
Lo-fi indie rock with a sad vibe, slight fixation on space and some drone elements. I really dig the production, it sounds raw yet crisp and every instrument is captured perfectly. Musically it's nothing spectacular but enjoyable none the less.

iamamiwhoami - Blue (2014)
I dug the hell out of Kin and Bounty and I can tell that I'm going to dig the hell out of this as well. She takes her previous electro-pop template and fleshes it out with lusher, more expansive sounds. She has a great knack of creating music which sounds alien yet familiar at the same time.

So, I finally got a hold of this. Flubs at the pressing plant prevented it from shipping on schedule.

Clark - Clark (2014)
I appreciate Clark getting some attention but it's still weird to me that Pitchfork chooses this album to give him Best New Music. There are some fine songs, but I don't think the album flows all that well and it's certainly not as engaging as some of his past work.

Himuro Yoshiteru - 7th Shape Shifting (2011)
Japanese IDM/wonky/glitch-hop.

The Beets - Let the Poison Out (2011)
Fun garage/beat.

Honey for Petzi - General Thoughts and Tastes (2011)
The best Swiss indie rock I'm aware of. A bit of math rock influence and some post-hardcore tones but "indie rock" is definitely the most appropriate label. Their previous albums were more electronic, post-rock, experimental and with few vocals, but this is much more focused than those, far more rock than electronic, and the vocals are present throughout, save for perhaps an instrumental or two (I don't recall).

Chad VanGaalen - Diaper Island (2011)
The album is as good as the album title and closing track are bad.

Loden - Burning Man Stage Hand (2011)
Third album from the wonky/glitch-hop Belgian producer otherwise known as Jolan Koks. I really love his 2010 album Buggy, and for some reason didn't find out about this follow-up until over a year later. After that he produced a Busdriver album (an instrumental version was also released), and then another of his own production with guest MCs. I wasn't interested in either of those, but hope he'll come back with another strong one that's not MC-focused.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Bright Eyes - A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995-1997

It's time to start working my way through the discography of Bright Eyes.

Some underrated tracks on here in comparison to the bigger, better and newer albums (in my opinion), but Bright Eyes has progressed for the better that's for sure.

Primordial - Where Greater Men Have Fallen (2014)

I am trying to decide if this is my favourite metal album of 2014, or if that prestige goes to Behemoth's The Satanist

Faded Paper Figures - Relics (2014)

After their Dynamo, I was dubious of them being able to top it. In my opinion, Dynamo is better, but Relics is still great! I discovered this band only a couple months ago. I love their synthpop sound and harmonies, but what I like most about them is that they have successful day jobs but get together to make music. One is a doctor, another a professor.
