Damien Rice - O This is turning out to be one of my favorite albums, ever. This man's lyrics may come off cheesy, but holy hell his voice is as smooth as a women's cheek. Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain This also is becoming a favorite of mine. Criminally underrated in DOOM'S discography, this thing holds 3 of my favorite songs by DOOM, not to mention every other track is a gem. The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang If you like your rock quasi-hard, but also melodic, Look no further.

Einstürzende Neubauten - Lament the new album by these pioneers is....in my opinion the best album since FM Einheit left in 1995....certainly a concept piece as it takes the listener on somewhat cynical journey through World War 1...starting off in typical "Neubauten" style....the album being about war....and not just war but quite possibly the worst war our race will ever be involved in....the album is quite bombastic at first but then even goes into an "autotune" reading of the telegrams passed between Nicholas II and Friedrich Wilhelm Viktor on the eve of the beginning of the war throughout the album there are dadaist flares and often funny social commentaries...but it sticks to the subject matter and it sticks well Janszoon....considering what you and i have been listening to all year.....i highly suggest you look into this album....i think you'll love it as much as i do |

Welcome - Sirs (2006) Pretty brief album, I'll have to listen again using headphones as the in-car listen wasn't ideal. I don't even know how to describe it, kind of experimental indie/punk I guess? I don't know. Interesting, warrants repeat listens. Sonny and the Sunsets - Longtime Companion (2012) I enjoyed the 2013 album Antenna to the Afterworld so I added this one to my Spotify to-do/shuffle list a while back. By now I'm sure I'd heard almost every song while shuffling, and it was about time to listen start to finish. Old country rock style reminding me of The Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo, which is quite enjoyable. Parkay Quarts - Content Nausea (2014) The two frontmen of Parquet Courts having a go at an album with the help of a few other musicians. Bit more country/southern and stripped down style coming through on this as opposed to the punk/post-punk stylings of their normal output.
