Love this, has a kind of Microdisney / Fatima Mansions feel to it.

Brian Eno - Here Come The Warm Jets

Listened:

First half is abrasive Screamo and the second half is just schizo : Jazz and Funk and god knows what else!

Band of Skulls - Himalayan. It's been a long time since I have heard a damn decent Rock album. Not Heavy Rock, not Psychedelic or Stoner. Just great Rock music.

Side project from Municipal Waste front man. Old school Hardcore a la DRI. Good stuff.

Cracking box set of Reggae tunes from the Virgin back catalogue. If you want to give Reggae a listen give this a listen (and no Bob Marley tunes either).

Bought (amongst others):
Castrovalva - You're not in hell, you are in purgatory my friend.
Cog - Sharing Space
Pivot - O soundtrack my heart.
DJ Format - Music for the mature B boy.

Ty Segall - Manipulator

Been hearing a lot of hullabaloo about this album and I'm a big Ty fan so I finally gave it a listen. Maybe it's a grower, I dunno... but it honestly didn't live up to my expectations. Unfortunately. I absolutely loved some songs, "Feel," especially. But a lot of it just felt like filler to me, because he wanted to make a long-ass album. All in all, decent, and what's good is really, REALLY good, but dude should stick to what he's best at: having an idea and recording half an hour of music in way too short of time.

Been hearing about this band forever. Saw it on a "best music to listen to in the fall" thing. Gave it a try. I've never been a fan of emo, but I gotta give it props, this is pretty badass... you know, in a sad way.

I liked this one from the first listen and fortunately it didn't feel as long as it is. Not all songs appealed to me right away, but I'm really digging it now and it certainly seems like a contender for my top 10 of 2014, if not top 5. Definitely his strongest album IMO.

Fatima Mansions, that's a band I haven't thought of in a long time.

Hmm. I've always trusted your opinion and you've yet to lead me astray. Guess it needs a second listen.

Various Artists - Rodentia: The Best of Dark Roots Music (Vol 1-4)

Licking my lips. Gothic country glory.

I have the download link all the volumes and two other comps (all on one page, no waiting, straight to zip) if anyone is interested.

Flying Lotus - You're Dead! (2014)

Some decent stuff on here, but some pretty mediocre stuff as well. Fortunately the songs are pretty short so there's always variation. Kendrick Lamar drops a pretty good verse on the track "Never Catch Me", but beyond that I can't say anything really stood out. That's not to say it's bad, it just works as a full album rather than individual tracks.

I'd be interested, all I'm finding is shady Russian links.
