Buffy Sainte-Marie - Little Wheel Spin and Spin (1966) A favorite musician of mine referenced her most recent album in an article last week, and then this past weekend I was in the local antique shop and found this on vinyl. Destiny, maybe? Folk is a genre I've always neglected; there's something missing in what I've heard of it that I've never really been able to put my finger on. I felt like maybe I could find that something with Buffy Sainte-Marie. I'll have to listen some more to really get a good sense of it, but there are definitely tracks I enjoy already (the eponymous song in particular). I've heard that her discography is all over the place stylistically, and I can appreciate that. |

Not my favorite Waits material by any means; But I think its the best of his newer stuff. Again, not my favorite of Montreal material, but I dig the album nonetheless. Found both of these cheap at a local record store got them both for 10 bucks and some change, combined.

^Real Gone is fantastic. As a whole I wouldn't say it's his best album, but some of his best songs (Hoist That Rag and Trampled Rose) are on that one.
What did you think of Bad As Me?

^Its Tom Waits so I still dig it. His last three have all been really good albums. Probably goes something like Real Gone, Alice, and then Bad As Me. That being said all three are solid albums, imo.
I do agree that Hoist That Rag is one of my favorite Waits songs, though.
