Ahh nice. I'm seeing her from either June 12th - 15th. Not sure exactly when which pisses me off.

Volcano Choir - Repave

This album hasn't completely sunk in yet, but it definitely makes me happy it doesn't sound like "singer-songwriter" Justin Vernon. Good change up.

Bill Evans & Jim Hall - Undercurrent (1962)

Very mellow jazz album, featuring Bill Evans on piano and Jim Hall on guitar. Late night/early AM audio sedative music to drift off to. (Album cover photo is Toni Frissell's photograph 'Weeki Wachee Spring, Florida' taken in 1947.

Excellent album man, I love Bill Evans - actually I was introduced to him here a long time ago.

I got some good stuff on my trip today -

Great introspective free jazz, very laid back and heavy on the strings.

Classic.

This I hadn't heard before, wasn't bad, but I was kind of expecting more from them. I waited a while on this one and was somehow lucky enough to get the single 7" that came with it and prefer the song on there to the album (Tell Everybody That I Love Them).

Just bought GACKT's "Crescent" and NIGHTMARE's "Scums" as well!

Brody Dalle - Diploid Love
I've heard this is good a couple of times now. I love The Distillers but this is my first venture into her solo stuff.

Polvo - Cor-Crane Secret
Today's Active Lifestyles is a top one-hundred album for me yet I haven't heard any other Polvo material. Seems pretty stupid. Expecting big things.

What does it sound like? Any good?

After checking out that new Eyehategod album, I finally got around to checking out the Santan's Satyr's debut album. I'm pleasantly surprised. Aside from the fact it sounds like it was recorded in a box, which doesn't bother me honestly, everything about the album is really good. When I added the album to iTunes it showed up as "Doom Punk" for the genre, and that was pretty accurate.

Satan's Satyrs - Wild Beyond Belief!

Don't be surprised if the new BBNG album doesn't sound quite like their last albums, but give it a chance, and definitely wear headphones.

Anyhow, here's what I just grabbed.

Agalloch - Serpent and the Sphere (2014)

It sounds like an Agalloch album but it lacks a distinctive beginning, middle, and end that I've come to expect from their music. This sounds more like a collection of Agalloch songs, but not like an Agalloch album, if that makes any sense.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - Christmas Island

First album as a permanent 5-piece. The musical style is more varied than ever, but Sean's lyrics are the standout as usual.

American Football - American Football (Deluxe edition reissue)
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/images/albums/11621.jpg

This is one of my favorite albums of all time, and while this would probably be more worth having on vinyl, I like having it. The 10 bonus tracks are interesting, even if they are mostly instrumental shells of songs.
