Last album I bought would be All This Bad Blood, by Bastille, on Saturday.
Last album I listened to fully would be Dirty Work, by All Time Low, a few hours ago. |

Nobunny - Secret Songs: Reflections From Ear Mirror. Garage rock/power pop. Hilarious album cover, filled with silly, youthful garage rock songs about high school girls and smoking weed. Not very gripping, though. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/97cd3b2fb8...4e/4446134.jpg Eels - Wonderful, Glorious. Indie rock. Good album, for some reason I want to suggest it for fans of Silver Jews. Peach Blossom is a rad song. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/0ccc1f1acf...5b/4537585.jpg The Men - New Moon. Garage rock. This album is in a lot of my current rotation. Frankly, as a post-hardcore/noise rock band, I could do without The Men, but this album really brings songwriting to the forefront, and it's awesome. Glad I didn't write them off after two albums that left me unfeeling for them. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/dec9edb50e...d7/4817130.jpg CHVRCHES - The Bones of What You Believe. Synth pop/electropop. I must say I expected a great deal more from this after all the praise and popularity they've received in the last year, but I was not remarked upon at all. It's really just girlish indie pop, all songs blending together, nothing new being accomplished. Meh. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/f18ec03664...1a/4758612.jpg Rilo Kiley - RKIVES. Indie pop. A compilation album, and it shows. Really patchy, lots of completely forgettable B-sides drowning out a couple of interesting tracks which were probably too aggressively creative to fit into a regular Rilo Kiley tracklist. And holy crap, the Dejalo remix is just offensive. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/d4426289c5...97/4793801.jpg BRAIDS - Flourish//Perish. Art pop/dream pop. After Native Speaker (Bjork meets neo-psychedelia), I'd expected some sort of watered-down rehashment, but I was pleasantly surprised by the growth here, and I might like this even more than their first album. Worth looking into if you need a gray, misty pop album. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/102ce90668...1c/4637749.jpg Mikal Cronin - MCII. Garage rock/power pop, I think? Honestly I remember very little of this. It's just very pale and forgettable. This album makes me think I only need a single Mikal Cronin album (his self-titled) to have heard them all. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/25f317faa6...b7/4770165.jpg Pity Sex - Feast of Love. Indie rock/shoegaze. This is basically a stepping stone into shoegaze from 00's pop punk. Some catchy tunes, but the adolescent vocals are slightly off-putting. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/166ad50e91...e7/2170037.jpg Weezer - Pinkerton. Power pop/indie rock. BLUE ALBUM PREVAILS. https://rymimg.com/lk/s/l/326b63b95c...f4/5091236.jpg Mac DeMarco - Salad Days. Jangle pop. I love 2, but this was just not woozy or lazy enough to satisfy what drew me to his last album. Passable, but far from impressive. |
Found a nice (if I had to grade it, I'd put it at a VG-, docking for sleeve wear) copy of Alan Parsons Project's "Pyramid" at Half Price Books the other day. Nice find for $2. Their vinyl selection is usually garbage, so I was pretty surprised.

Oh man, Pinkerton. I never get tired of that album.

Periphery - Periphery II: This Time It's Personal (2012) |

Chairmen of the Board - Skin I'm In (1974) The last album from soul/funk band 'Chairmen of the Board' featuring some members of Funkadelic and Parliament, including Bernie Worrell and Eddie Hazel. A mix of originals and covers, sounding a bit different from their earlier albums, with some psych/rock added to the funk. Well worth a listen for any fan of the band or the genre. |

Foxing - The Albatross
http://popstache-cdn.s3.amazonaws.co...er-300x300.jpg These guys create a nice blend of chamber pop and midwest emo, and the vocals are outstanding. Definitely recommend. |

Five - Invincible (1999) One of my fave bands back in the day. Still love the pure charm they exude. It doesn't feel forced or even particularly corporate, just some lads who got lucky and love what they are doing. |
I just bought "Jealousy" by X Japan. Awesome album.
