Menace - Impact Velocity.

I had no idea that this was a side project of Mitch Harris (Napalm Death guitarist) until I read up on the album. A mish mash (but cohesively sounding mix) of Prog, Goth and Metal. Mastodon meets Pure Reason Revolution maybe.

A bunch of producers rip apart Killing Joke tunes and put them back together again. The In Dub album title is a misnomer as there are all sorts of directions and genres that the album takes. Quality.

wow thanks for mentioning that. I haven't heard their name in years. Went to look them up and they have two albums that I didn't even hear about and immediately downloaded.

It's nice to see someone mention the Plugz on here for once. I dig those guys. And, yes, I was introduced to them by the Repo Man soundtrack. Also one of my favorite movies.

Various Artists - Let's Get Pissed - It's Christmas! (1984)

Not listened to this yet but it's a Christmas themed punk sampler, so why not give it a go?

Day Ravies - Tussle (2013)

One of the best modern day shoegaze-ish releases. Outstanding at times, little inconsistent though.

Afel Bocoum, Damon Albarn, Toumani Diabaté & Friends (or apparently just Mali Music) - Mali Music (2002)

The first track of this is promising in terms of the sounds being used. Not really sure what is to come though.

Edit: Oh this is some good stuff. Very surprised to see only two comments mentioning Mali Music via the search function.

"There's some dudes in a bar, with busted heads and broken jaws, what hit 'em?"

"Truck Turner!"

Isaac Hayes ‎– Truck Turner (Original Soundtrack) (1974)

Another favorite soundtrack album from another one of my favorite films.

Thantifaxath - Sacred White Noise (2014)
Some black metal with a slight avant-garde bent. Apart from some interestingly skewed guitars at times this didn't strike me as anything special. It's nicely produced and well executed but just seems like another modern black metal album with nothing much to make it stand out.

Triptykon - Melana Chasmata (2014)
Over 30 years into his musical career and Tom G. Fischer is still releasing amazing albums. It may be too early to call yet but this album could possibly hold its own against the best Celtic Frost albums. It's as heavy as fuck and it doesn't bother me in the slightest that it's over an hour long.

I've been wanting to get into Isaac Hayes, for obvious reasons. What's a good album to start with?

Default tycho

The last album I downloaded was Tycho's Awake. He's playing a jazz fest after show in New Orleans on the 28th and I wanted to hear their new stuff before I saw them live. I highly recommend!
