Hmmmm I did like this to a certain extent, but I got really bored by the latter third of it. The 6+ minute track was a bit of a downer. Not *bad* by any means, but didn't do much for me.

Perfect Pussy - Yes Yes To Love

Been looking forward to this one since the EP.

Frankie Cosmos - Zentropy

I'm a sucker for bedroom pop. This is right up my alley.

One of my favourite bands from the early 90s, they've had a bit of a comeback in the last few years and sound better than they ever did then. They have this kind of late night smoke filled room vibe to them similar to bands like Tindersticks or later Afghan Whigs (Who's first album in years is coming out next month ) but they're not afraid to rock out a bit either.
The opening 9 minute track on the album is amazing.

Punk and Metal riffs with instrumental dub? Sign me up.

Atmospheric folk that you don't need to wear a jumper to listen to and it doesn't sound like Mumford and Sons before anyone asks!

Punk as it should be. ex Circle Jerks front man blasting out 90 second hardcore circa 80's.

Tool meets Riverside. Fantastic middle eastern drum patterns too.

Bought:
too many to recall but among them:
Fever Ray - S.T
Tom Petty - Greatest Hits
Stiff Little Fingers - Best of

Lou Reed and John Cale - Songs For Drella

There was a time when I probably would have loved this album to pieces, but I just didn't get into it. My tastes have changed a little, and I think it's simpley not that good.

Sweet Smoke - Live (1974)

The third LP release from this progressive jazz rock band, recorded live in Berlin, Musikhochschule. Three songs (one on side 1 and two on side 2) with fantastic musicianship and extended jams that held my attention and never got boring or self indulgent. Well worth a listen for fans of the genre. There is also a CD version (haven't heard it yet) available with extra tracks included.

Zara McFarlane - If You Knew Her (2014)

Tagged as "Soul Jazz" and the first track fits the bill. Looking forward to the rest of the album.
