Supersuckers - Get The Hell first album of 2014 and it arrived a day early what can i say.....if you like Supersuckers you'll like this album.....pure satanic rock....once again they prove that the Supersuckers are indeed the greatest rock n roll band in the world and they do a great cover of Depeche Mode's "Never Let Me Down Again" Inside Llewyn Davis Soundtrack i went to go see this with a friend yesterday....first time for him and second for me during my first view i obviously noticed the songs....but they really had little effect on me this second viewing was the exact opposite....all i could think about were the songs....and two in particular....so bad that i had to buy a copy of the soundtrack at the nearest Barnes and Nobles! |

Listened to that this week too, for the first time in a long time. It was long overdue. BLUES PILLS - DEVIL MAN (2013) Second EP of Swedish blues. Female singer, with a very strong, powerful voice. Some may say the album overindulges in its vocal power, but I think it hits the spot when I'm in the right mood. THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING - ETERNAL RETURN (2008) Their first album Storyboard has one of my favourite post-rock records for years, yet for some reason I still hadn't checked out anything else by them. First listen...underwhelmed. Offers little to separate it from the pack of extremely similar, unoriginal post-rock records. But I may give it another go. |

I was in the mood for something a bit different from the summer of love...
