Supersuckers - Get The Hell

first album of 2014 and it arrived a day early

what can i say.....if you like Supersuckers you'll like this album.....pure satanic rock....once again they prove that the Supersuckers are indeed the greatest rock n roll band in the world

and they do a great cover of Depeche Mode's "Never Let Me Down Again"

Inside Llewyn Davis Soundtrack

i went to go see this with a friend yesterday....first time for him and second for me

during my first view i obviously noticed the songs....but they really had little effect on me

this second viewing was the exact opposite....all i could think about were the songs....and two in particular....so bad that i had to buy a copy of the soundtrack at the nearest Barnes and Nobles!

Hmm. Maybe I'll check this out.

Listened to that this week too, for the first time in a long time. It was long overdue.

BLUES PILLS - DEVIL MAN (2013)
Second EP of Swedish blues. Female singer, with a very strong, powerful voice. Some may say the album overindulges in its vocal power, but I think it hits the spot when I'm in the right mood.

THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING - ETERNAL RETURN (2008)
Their first album Storyboard has one of my favourite post-rock records for years, yet for some reason I still hadn't checked out anything else by them. First listen...underwhelmed. Offers little to separate it from the pack of extremely similar, unoriginal post-rock records. But I may give it another go.

A couple of Swans albums; Love Of Life and Soundtracks for the Blind. They haven't arrived yet, but I'm really looking forward to them.

As you should. Love of Life is one of the greatest albums in the history of everything.

Not to talk it up or anything.

Was feeling pretty old school the other day. Surprised how well it stands up today.

I was in the mood for something a bit different from the summer of love...
