Extremely psyched about this. Loved their first album. Haven't listened yet, but I'd be shocked if these guys disappoint me. Anyone that's into beautiful, atmospheric folktronica should be checking this band out asap imo.

I liked their first album but I wasn't particularly impressed with this one. It just seemed to pass me by and nothing stuck out in particular.

Been on a bit of a Tad fix tonight. Amazing as usual:

It's sad that this was their final release as it showed sounds throughout that really seemed for a promising future.

Mary Jane Hooper - Psychedelphia (1997)

Despite the colorful album cover and the title, this is not a psychedelic album, but a New Orleans soul/funk album. A collection of all the singles recorded by Sena Fletcher (Mary Jane Hooper.) A fine cover of "Harper Valley PTA" (probably the most well known song on the album) with an uptempo, funk arrangement, stands out from the rest of the songs. Not an essential album for soul or funk fans, but Interesting and enjoyable all the way through.
