Courtney Barnett - The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas I had heard 'Avant-Gardener' enough times to push me into getting her releases. Damn good. Kind of quirky, witty folk pop. Looking forward to a full album. Various Artists - Dokument 1 I heard the dude from Iceage mention this in an interview so I picked it up out of love for Iceage. Basically a compilation of music from all of the bands on the Copenhagen music scene, pretty cool stuff. |

Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet Found this when I was dollar bin surfing at my local record store. The record is scratched to hell and there's no cover, but it was only a dollar. Provocative Percussion Vol. 3 Also got this from the dollar bin because it was provocative and from 1961, which sparked my interest in the album. Haven't listened to it yet either. Frank Zappa - Live at the Filmore East 1971 Awesome live album that I found for a good price, plus my record collection doesn't have a live album that I'm interested in yet, so it was a no brainer on this one.

Stonehelm - Stonehelm This is pretty good Stoner/Doom metal. Stonehelm have only made one album, it seems. Shame, I would of liked to hear more.

Bill Kirchen - Seeds and Stems (2013) Bill Kirchen "The Titan of The Telecaster" reworks some of his best known songs from his days with Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, as well as songs from his solo career and a great cover of Bob Dylan's "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry." Worth a listen for anyone who likes good country/rockabilly with a Telecaster twang. |
