Childish Gambino - Because The Internet

Edit: google censorship strikes again, the pic was too sexy (or weird)

Yeah it blew me away too. Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Kind of sounds like if the Cocteau Twins made drone music or something haha. A likely climber on my 2013 album list.

99% - Meat Beat Manifesto

I'm so glad I stumbled upon these guys last night, and actually gave them a listen. This is the third album I've downloaded, and so far it may be my favorite. This is the kind of breakdown sound I love listening to while drunk. I had a good night last night, really perked me up, thanks to Meat Beat Manifesto.

A lot of Xasthur's old material. Including, but not limited to, The Funeral of Being. The first track I heard from him is still my favorite (The Prison of Mirrors). I downloaded the album it came off of (Subliminal Genocide) then checked out his latest material. It didn't have the same kind of sound I was hoping for, and so for some reason I gave up. I then saw the mini-documentary One Man Metal featuring him, Leviathan, and Striborg, and the interviewer mentioned Telepathic With the Deceased. That's when I realized I was being rather stupid by not checking out his older material. Heard a few tracks, all of them had that sound I was hoping for with the newer material, and now I'm quite happy.

If I'm honest, I'm not sure exactly how I came upon this album. Regardless, I'm glad that I did. I love it more and more with each successive listen. Originally my favorite track was Chamakay. It had that late in the day, warm sunset kind of vibe I get from almost all Progressive House tracks. But now I think it might be No Right Thing.

"Chamakay" is the only track I've heard off this album (on a V/A comp) & I really love it. Glad to hear the album is good as I've been thinking off picking it up.

V/A I Need You Bad

Collection of current San Francisco garage rock bands such as Warm Soda, Burnt Ones, Magic Trick (I'm trying to track down their latest album), Little Wings, etc. The album is streaming here: Polyvinyl Record Co. - Various Artists - I Need You Bad
