Listened to:
Chuck Berry - The Great Twenty Eight The Beatles - Rubber Soul "Bought" The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico (This one i'd been looking for on vinyl for a while) Lady Gaga - Born This Way Both were given as gifts to me by a very generous friend, as an early birthday gift |
La Futura by ZZ Top
Have to say, I'm loving it actually. A lot of it is pretty familiar, "Chartreuse" is obviously intended to sound very similar to "Tush", but at the same time all of the songs sound fresh. "I Gotsta Get Paid", "Chartreuse", "Consumption", "I Don't Wanna Lose, Lose You", "Big Shiny Nine" and "Have A Little Mercy" are all great songs, and I wouldn't call any one song on the entire album bad. |

Love this band, so happy with this release. Now I just need to them to tour the East Coast so I can finally see them live! |

Boom Bip & Doseone - Circle This is my first hip hop addition to my vinyl collection, and appropriately so, because it was one of the first hip hop albums that I came to love. |

Clark "Turning Dragon" I'm going to say that JD pretty much introduced me to both of the albums I'm posting here, but anyway. I heard "New Year Storm" and was pretty much blown away, hard thumping rhythm, dark atmosphere, distorted synths, it all sounded amazing right away. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51T8xc%2B8tyL.jpg Arovane "Tides" I listened to Arovane's last album "Lilies" and fell in love with the ambient like songs, and almost crackly synths. This time is no different, but it has a little bit of a different feel to it, but still what I was looking for. |
:tramp:
Tides is one of my favorite albums ever, of any genre; "The Storm" being my epiphanic favorite. Nothing I've heard from Clark is quite as dark and raw as Turning Dragon, but if you're still interested in hearing more of his work, Totems Flare is great, eclectic, and plenty loud. |
Well, I collect vinyls by the crate-load. :D
Just bought 43 vinyls at a liquidation sale last weekend. A mixed bag of classic rock, classical, punk, post-punk, pop and folk/country spanning the years of 1960 to 1990. |
