I have this particular record: would have loved the opportunity to go wandering down toward some random subway station or another back in the 90's and happen to run across him performing whatever strange, astrally symphonic shuffle the Lunar Denizens had bequeathed upon him that day. :D

La Futura by ZZ Top

Have to say, I'm loving it actually. A lot of it is pretty familiar, "Chartreuse" is obviously intended to sound very similar to "Tush", but at the same time all of the songs sound fresh.

"I Gotsta Get Paid", "Chartreuse", "Consumption", "I Don't Wanna Lose, Lose You", "Big Shiny Nine" and "Have A Little Mercy" are all great songs, and I wouldn't call any one song on the entire album bad.

Love this band, so happy with this release. Now I just need to them to tour the East Coast so I can finally see them live!

Boom Bip & Doseone - Circle

This is my first hip hop addition to my vinyl collection, and appropriately so, because it was one of the first hip hop albums that I came to love.

If you've never heard of this guy (and I hadn't until today) here's his Last FM write up...

Moondog was the pseudonym of Louis T. Hardin (May 26, 1916 – September 8, 1999).

He was a New York City street musician and former beat poet who was blinded as a young adult. From the late 1940s until 1974, he was a permanent fixture, busking on 54th Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan. He was known not only for his music and poetry, but also for the distinctive Viking garb that he wore, including a horned helmet. He routinely gave away copies of his work to anybody who would take them. In this way, he came to the attention of producer James William Guercio, who took him into the studio to record an album, released as “Moondog” (1969) on the CBS label. A brief phrase of another track on the album, Bird’s Lament (In memory of Charlie Parker) was sampled by Mr. Scruff as the basis for his 7-minute track Get a Move On.

A second album produced with Guercio, and featuring both himself and his daughter as vocalists, contained song compositions in the forms of canons and rounds. It did not make an impression on popular music as the first had.

He and Sun Ra are very similar in terms of eccentrics.

Clark "Turning Dragon"

I'm going to say that JD pretty much introduced me to both of the albums I'm posting here, but anyway. I heard "New Year Storm" and was pretty much blown away, hard thumping rhythm, dark atmosphere, distorted synths, it all sounded amazing right away.

Arovane "Tides"

I listened to Arovane's last album "Lilies" and fell in love with the ambient like songs, and almost crackly synths. This time is no different, but it has a little bit of a different feel to it, but still what I was looking for.

Tides is one of my favorite albums ever, of any genre; "The Storm" being my epiphanic favorite.
Nothing I've heard from Clark is quite as dark and raw as Turning Dragon, but if you're still interested in hearing more of his work, Totems Flare is great, eclectic, and plenty loud.

Well, I collect vinyls by the crate-load. :D
