Sulk - Graceless (2013)
A shameless early-90's baggy/Britpop throwback but they have some seriously good tunes. I feel it has something that has been missing in British indie music for a number of years - that distinctive confidence and swagger that's unmistakably British. However I do feel their execution and over-indulgence in nostalgia prevents this from being anything special. A solid debut none the less, imagine The Stone Roses if Ian Brown could actually sing and The Second Coming wasn't shit.

Glitch Pop is not really a genre but it best describes this very mellow electronic Pop album with Hip Hop overtures. Thanks to my eldest for the reco!

Very cool retro jungle with some serious bass heavy sounds. Brilliant to work too!

Weekend - Red EP

I mainly got this because of the fact that it's from Slumberland, comes in a red vinyl sleeve, and it's a GOLD SPLATTERED CLEAR RECORD! Oh, and I gave a few of the songs a listen and was like, filling out shipping and payment info already. So, yeah, I can't wait to get this in the mail.

Boards of Canada - Trans Canada Highway

This was the last (widely available) Boards of Canada release I did not have digitally yet, but I'm really glad I got it, "Skyliner" has been on repeat for a good half hour or so. Dem synths, dat bass drum, so good.

Therese Aune - Billowing Shadows, Flickering Light

Gorgeous album, subtle, haunting and she has a beautiful voice. Highly recommended.

It's refreshing to hear some political punk, especially when it's better than you expect.

Three very different albums today.

Aye Nako - Unleash Yourself

I haven't gotten to this one yet, but I really enjoyed their demo from a few years back, it has a garage punk feel to it, sloppy but fun.

The Uncluded - Hokey Fright

I admit that I only got this because I like Kimya Dawson and Aesop Rock individually, I didn't really give it a thought about how they would be together, but I enjoy it, it's unusual, it's fun, and it's a combination of two great genres that don't get combined often.

She & Him - Volume 3

I have Volume 1 and Volume 2 and I know exactly what I'm getting with this album, it'll be casual, it'll be light and it'll be full of summery songs about heartbreak because that's what Zooey Deschanel always does, and does well.
