I'm almost finished listening to this, but Iceage's debut seems a lot more raw, less polished than "You're Nothing". I obviously downloaded this because of their sophomore album, which blew me right the fuck away. Not too sure how I feel about this though, needs a few more listens to get a more sure opinion.

I haven't listened to much Roy Montgomery, but I have a split with him and Flying Saucer Attack, and I'm really big on the latter. He keeps popping up in mentions from bands I'm fond of, so it was about time I gave one of his records a spin.

Tesseract, 'Altered State.'

Despite their revolving door of vocalists, this album is pretty damn sweet. I have to admit I am enjoying their new lead singer better than previous ones. Poly-rhythms and odd time-signatures (you know me...), but still a good groove throughout the album. I've only had it on for a couple of days now so I'm not sure how it will go for me after a little more time, we shall see...

I can't recommend Roy Montgomery enough, and that's a great album to start with. If you like it, you might want to check out the follow-up album, Temple IV.

Been loving that record quite a bit for awhile now. It may or may not make my AOTY list come year's end, but it's definitely something special regardless of how one categorizes it.

that was my first time listening to Billy Woods and it was a pretty good listen. I ended up downloading all of his other material on the same day but I just haven't gotten around to listen to the older stuff yet. I will most likely today.
