I didn't know he was touring though, but I don't see any California shows, so he'll have to wait till I move somewhere with enough cultural relevance so bands actually want to come. |

To be honest, after reading Acid Bath lyrics when I was 15, I assumed he would have killed himself by now. |

I really wish I had gotten into Acid Bath when I was teenager, I think Dax and I are kindred spirits and it would have been nice to have that kind of reassurance back when most people need it.

And Also The Trees - Virus Meadow (1986) I had no idea where to start with their vast catalogue so I decided to start here. It's gothic rock with some very unique guitar work and almost spoken-word vocals. It has a very strange, surreal and depressive vibe to it which I find intriguing. Didn't grab me as much as I thought it would on the first listen but I will definitely be playing this again. Sad Lovers and Giants - Feeding The Flame (1983) An ambitious post-punk album which I'm already starting to love. It takes the epicness of The Chameleons to an even darker and intense place and the use of space on this album creates a huge dreamy sound. Also I think that beautiful album cover sums up their sound here perfectly.

Nice 2 disc Anthology of one of my favourite early 90s band with radio sessions & obscure vinyl only singles thrown in. Finally I get to own 'Bring Me The Head Of Michael Portillo' again. My record collection was never the same without it.

Kelpe Ex-Aquarium (2008) Well I've listened to this a few times now and can truly say it's pretty damn great. Really phenomenal instrumental beats/hip hop/electronica with live drums (sometimes), and other cool things going on... like a beat based off of a ping pong ball bouncing around. Check it out if you haven't yet, it's quite tasty. Props to Sidewinder for letting MB know about it! Fontanelle Fontanelle (2000) I don't have a ton to say about this album, but it's good. Quiet, subtle, brooding jazz fusion, with some nice kruatrock influence. Think later Miles Davis mixed with Can. The band leaves a lot of room to let you hear exactly what each band member is doing, and doesn't just throw sound at you... and as much as I like free jazz, it works well here to be quiet. Though I haven't listened to anything else from them, from what I hear, their latest album (released this year) is actually very loud, funky, and busy, so it'll be interesting to contrast the two sounds.

Yeezus - Kanye West
Kanye West has the best productions for his records. This might be his best album he's ever done, if not his second best. It's actually a tie between MBDTF, Late Registration, and this. All three hip hop classics.

Finally listening to AMOK (2013) by Atoms for Peace and it is pretty good so far. Nothing particularly engaging but I assume it's a grower. Probably won't be giving it a chance to though.
