You can't successfully hotlink RYM images without using their code (you can find it by clicking the album cover from the profile page). The code includes a link back to the RYM page. They block all other hotlinking.

Yeah it's hard to ever tell unless someone tells you, because once you view the image on the original site it's in your browser's cache, so you put the link somewhere else you will see it, but others may not. Sometimes when I hotlink from sites I'm unfamiliar with, I'll make my post, then copy the forum's URL into another browser to see if the image shows up.

Sonny & the Sunsets - Antenna to the Afterworld (2013) Streaming this on Spotify right now, first I've listened to this band. I don't remember where I learned of them, but I had this and maybe a previous album in my Amazon wishlist. Older material is said to be mainly Alt-Country, but it's pretty subtle here. This reminds me quite a bit of Silver Jews, which are of course partly Alt-Country/Americana, but also heavy on the Indie side of things. This is a bit more quirky than Silver Jews, at times reminding me a bit of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and some 80s punk/indie. Quite enjoyable so far, I have a feeling this will be in heavy rotation.

Bought this for Schubert's Trout quintet! Sublime. The 4th movement is always a treat, like lost in the Mitteleuropa of the days before the war, waltzing along the Danube, sheltering in abandoned huts, and visiting monuments with centuries of histories behind. All on your own of course, and on foot. |

Last two bought:
Blood Red Shoes - Water EP (Vinyl) Editors - The Back Room (Vinyl reissue) Both from Amazon UK, arrived last week. Nothing in the pipeline until my Editors / Daughn Gibson pre-orders ship, but I'm sure I'll be buying something before then. |

I love this album with some real deep passion. Every song sounds like a strong political statement but with great harmony. Also, the cover is so rad.

Guest vocalists include Joe Dukie from Fat Freddy's Drop. Yet another slice of Funk/Soul/Hip Hop/Electronica that moves both your hips and your head. Quality stuff and ditto for this: Both of these albums won't win any plaudits for originality but they are still off mainstream, chock full of great musicianship and are also good fun to listen to. In the search for evermore rare and unusual music I think we forget that music should also be fun and make us dance and feel good sometimes.
