Wolf People - Fain (2013) Psychedelic Rock outfit I heard about today. Their 2010 album - Steeple - gained a fair amount of praise, but they are new to me. Hopefully it's good. |

I kinda liked it a lot in parts, but the vocals are a bit lame.

Anciients - Heart of Oak (2013) Some riff-heavy stoner metal from Canada. Decent enough stuff but they seem to lack an identity of their own and if this had come out a few years ago it would probably have more purpose. That said, the opening track 'Raise the Sun' is great and there's plenty of other good moments elsewhere. A solid album in it's own right but you can't help feel that you've heard it all before. http://www.rollingstone.com/assets/i...1f9c9e192c.jpg Middle Brother - Middle Brother (2011) Was listening to this at a friend's house one night. They're a supergroup consisting of John McCauley of Deer Tick, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes and Matt Vasquez of Delta Spirit. There's nothing flashy going on here, just good old folk rock with it's heart on it's sleeve. Their cover of 'Portland' by The Replacements is certainly worth noting. |
Aqualung - Jethro Tull. Cracking

Went ahead and spent .99 for this:
