More pretty pictures of stuff I bought:
http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...Ih-GZ8LXvD1Yxg U2 - The Joshua Tree Deluxe edition. Always disliked the first 3 tracks but there is some really good stuff thereon in and £8 for a 3 disc set with postcards and a hardback book is not to be sniffed at. **** the haterz. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...pYEq-R7Yn_WYWA Yes I like cheesy Euro Metal and always will. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...ByglwdYz_9KIla Even if it does contain the godawful Take My Breath Away (recorded by insistence of the record company) the rest of the album is damn classy Rock Pop and David Gilmour even turns up on the superlative track Pink and Velvet. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...BGnMg1xOEZJ1SX Rx Bandits - The Resignation. I'm not quite sure how you can have a Ska Punk Progressive Metal album but they managed it and it delivers in spades. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...Vz3Nj8-82JLGOf A cheapo compilation of everyones favourite Grebo band of which renowned film composer Clint Mansell was the vocalist. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...D04B7znAEU2vbA One of my favourite exponents of Jazz tinged Funky Chillout. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...ZmIwuh8OTbjb1A Does what it says on the cover. Great to fall asleep to. Listened to: http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...uNrOpA_bQyGtay Only on first listen of this Americana Rock album but sounds decent enough. |

Robbin The Hood: Sublime Been breaking out all my classics lately, and I've had this album in heavy rotation. Still my favorite album of theirs, it's so unique and each song flows together perfectly. |

The Ensemble Pearl - S/T I bought it at my local record store. I couldn't resist. It had Eyvind Kang, two Boris members and Stephen O'Malley! I haven't given it a listen yet, but the lineup sounds stellar. |

Colin Stetson - New History Modern Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light This album is good, but I didn't find it to be as astounding as New History Modern Warfare Vol. 2: Judges because he's using the same tricks. That being said, some of the songs get very heavy and cacophonous while some lapse into more mellow areas. I thought that the opener was a bit disappointing with the guest singer Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Bon Iver, who did far better on the song "Who the Waves Are Roaring For (Hunted III)", which is also one of the best tracks on the album. It's still more of the same, and fortunately for Stetson the same is still pretty interesting. 4/5 http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG...er=allrovi.com Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog - Your Turn Decent album. A lot of fantastic songs but also a few duds that either fizzle out early or just seem like filler. Some great solos from Ribot, as to be expected, but we get to hear more of the band's dynamic as a whole as opposed to Ribot being the key portion of the songs. 3/5 |
