Plants and Animals - The End of That (2012) Pretty cool Canadian indie rock, I think there's some Americana or folk influence, a bit of Southern Rock too. Heard a track on the local indie station recently and made note of the band name.

Really awesome compilation and collab album, a really diverse blend of jazz and hip hop. It has a heavy Nujabes influence but it's got it's own style too.

Old Gray - An Autobiography
Amazing album. A great debut from a band that put out a ton of amazing singles and EPs. Definitely lived up to my high expectations.

I have Mellow Beats, Friends, and Lovers and I love it (as with most anything in that style, really), although I prefer Nujabes himself, but that's an unfair comparison. It's excellent to unwind to.

As for Nujabes, he is the epitome of chill hop for me. His beats are otherworldy. I really really like his work on the Samurai Champloo OST. Damn shame he passed away so young, way to early.

Sounds like an acoustic folk album recorded in a haunted house.

Came out a week ago. It's a 2013 album with a retro cover.
