This is pretty much what I've been buying over the last few weeks.
The Sword - Apocryphon 2x Limited Turquoise LP & CD (2012) - Really blew me away. One of the best metal albums I've heard in a while. Still quite doomy in places but with a little hard rock/classic rock influence and they are starting to work occasional electronic elements into their sound as well. Bong - Live at Roadburn Festival 2010 (2011) Thankfully Burning World Records released their performance at the festival on LP and CD, because this is as close to the live Bong experience as has been captured on record. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend! (2012) I had to wait for weeks for my pre-ordered LP to come but it was worth the wait. Only listened to it once so far but first impressions were good. I look forward to repeated plays. Godspeeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞ (1997) I had to buy a physical copy one day, as I love this record, and thankfully the LP is beautifully packaged. Well worth it. Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys (1970) I have this packaged on the same CD as Isle of Wight album but given how much I love this, I had to have the LP. Bong - S/T (2012) 2009 LP debut release reissued on CD this year. I posted about it again not so long ago so I'll just say it's awesome. Bong - Novum Castellum (2009) Three discs of live performances in and around Newcastle released in a DVD case. I had a download of it but I do love this band, plus I was at a few of the gigs. Electric Wizard - Legalise Drugs & Murder (2012) The 7" EP from earlier this year issued on cassette exclusively covermounted with Terrorizer magazine. It features the two tracks from the EP and a few others, such as outtakes and demos. Maybeshewill - * Not For the Want of Trying (2008) * Sing the Word Hope in Four-Part Harmony (2009) * I Was Here For a Moment, Then I Was Gone (2011) I felt a little guilty that I didn't own any of these yet, so when I was at their gig this week I bought all three of them. A post-rock band that still capture my attention. Rodrigo y Gabriela: * Live: Manchester and Dublin (2004) * 11:11 (2009) The live one was to replace a digital copy and I picked up 11:11 as well as I haven't heard that one yet. The Jam - Sound Affects (1980) I'm always surprised that I don't have a physical copy of this. It was about time. The Kills - Blood Pressures (2011) I haven't heard this one but I thought No Wow was alright. Arcade Fire - Funeral (2004) I'm not a HUGE fan of it but I did like it and so for £3 I'll have it! Kiss - S/T (1974) I don't listen to Kiss much but if I do it's this one or Alive! So again, for £3... Cypress Hill: *Black Sunday (1993) * III (Temples of Boom) (1995) Packaged together as a boxset for £3. Thats £1.50 each. Come on! |

Tried listening to it, but I couldn't help but come back to this...
It's just so epic. Simple in a way, but so ambitious. 10/10

Okay, I've come to my conclusion...
It truly is Sufjan Stevens masterpiece. It's subtle to an extent, yet so ambitious. 10/10 Could become one of my favorite albums over time

I've been trying to listen to a lot of Toby Driver's work recently, so I'm looking forward to listening to this later today. I felt like I needed some "pure" dark ambient in my collection, so I'll give this a listen later this week. Aside from Darkspace's discography and a few other albums, I feel like stopping this huge download spree right now due to my hard drive having only a few GBs of space left. |

I can't believe that I actually found a working link for this. What I heard so far sounds really promising, so I'll be giving this a listen tomorrow. |
