I decided to have another download spree today, but this time, I decided to look at some old posts (from 2009-2010) in both "Albums You're Digging" and this thread.
Despite the terrible cover art, I still got this because I'm a sucker for lengthy post-rock albums. Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album I'm surprised that I didn't get this album sooner due to all the praise that I've heard being given to it. I'm really looking forward to listening to this. Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds Even when I was 13, I still thought that this was an underrated album. I'm so glad that I have the chance to listen to this again. Jaga Jazzist - A Livingroom Hush I've been meaning to check these guys out for a while. I would have gotten One Armed Bandit if I found a working link, but this will have to do as a starting point in their discography. I got a lot more than these albums, but I'm really tired at the moment, so I don't feel like typing a list. |

Comadre - Mixtape Vol. 5 Comadre have been putting out these free mixtapes for a while now. Vol. 4's featured them doing collaborations with everyone from Broadway Calls to P.O.S. This one here is pretty much just a sample of new music from themselves and a bunch of other bands. There's a nice variety of punk stuff on here from pop-punk (Broadway Calls and Daikon) to blistering hardcore (Punch and Ghostlimb) to screamo (Funeral Diner and Comadre). Worth checking out, there's a couple bands on here that I'm going to have to investigate further. You can get it for free here Mixtape Vol. 5 | Comadre

BONG - BONG (2012) The bands debut full length 2009 release, previously only ever pressed on vinyl, reissued on CD by Ritual Productions with a bonus track from the same sessions. I have the record but I had to buy it anyway and it also means I can have a better version on my iPod rather than a vinyl rip. I still adore it as much as I ever did as they go from strength to strength and continue to perfect their craft, it's good to remind myself of their beginnings. This really is a beautiful, meditative, psychedelic, trance-doom orgy. |

think i'll look into that Bong album
got these in various formats Cult Of Youth - Love Will Prevail i think this is their first album....i've heard at least....where they sound like their own band and not an American rip of of early Death In June.....i'm actually really digging this Cloudkicker - Fade this was suggested by Exoskeletal and is really good...wave upon wave of great instrumental rock music....psychedelic, progressive, metal....whatever its hypnotic and enthralling.....should make for some great late night driving music Pig Destroyer - Book Burner new Pig Destroyer sounds pretty much like old Pig Destroyer...which is not bad at all Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow for some stupid reason i don't own this.....i had to change that |
