Maybeshewill - I was Here for a Moment, Then I Was Gone (2011) Post-rock may be a genre littered with copycats and less than ambitious drones and sheep replicating whatever came before them. Maybeshewill, however, stand alone. Their first two records were instrumental post-rock/post-metal, programmed electronics, and were littered with references to film and sampled dialogues. The references and the samples have gone for the third record, strings take a central stage and, in my opinion, the result is Maybeshewill coming of age. Not necessarily a better record than those that came before it, but certainly more mature. |

Earth - A Bureaucratic Desire For ExtraCapsular Extraction For a compilation album this flows surprisingly well. The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Aufheben They haven't released anything this good since Bravery Repetition and Noise. |
