I just got into the metal and jpop scene, ye, totally different things I know! Just bought a capsule CD, and also Disturbed's 10000 fists. Good stuff.
Can anyone recommend any electronic bands (like Hybrid, 65daysofstatic or BT) or trance bands (Like Above & Beyond and OceanLab) that are really focused on melody? Much appreciated! |

Aperture Science Psychoacoustics Laboratory - [Songs To Best By] Don't know why I didn't get on this earlier, cause god damn there is some great electronic music on this album. I really wish Mike Morasky would work with a hip hop artist, I feel there's a gold mine of untapped talent there. |

Nice old school flavour in both delivery and loops used. A band to keep an eye out for:

Bear Proof Suit - A Suit to Alter Fate 2005-2008 Retrospective of a short lived hardcore band who apparently recorded all their stuff on vintage equipment. It's really rather good. There's one track on here where you can play spot the Black Sabbath riff. It's not like they even try to hide it either the song even has the same intro to Children Of the Grave.

A Birthday Party tribute album with bands like Melt Banana, Plot To Blow Up the Eiffel Tower, The Chinese Stars, Get Hustle & Daughters. Looking forward to checking this out.

I had to split this up over three days. It's very tiresome, and despite the cool industrial-folk aesthetic, there's just too much filler to slog through. Occasionally you find a gem, but only after listening to some dude ramble in German for minutes on end. |
