Mirel Wagner - Mirel Wagner

My brother bought this as a birthday present for me.
Mirel Wagner is a finnish folk, singer-songwriter who released her self-titled debut album this year. She has been getting lots of great review and attention from the finnish music media and she was voted "the breakthrough artist of 2011" by many critics.

I absolutely love this bleak, depressing folk. I also went to see her gig last summer and I got chills. She was amazing and she was really modest which I liked alot.

Ah, one of my favorite nu jazz records! If you haven't already, check out the Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble.

MarQ Spekt & Kno - MacheteVision (2011)

This is one of the more interesting collaborations I've heard this year. MarQ Spekt is a bit more hard in his delivery and rhymes than Deacon the Villain and Natti from CunninLynguists are and Kno switches up his beats to better accompany that. You can still tell it's Kno behind the switchboard, but the beats aren't something I'd expect to hear on a CunninLynguist's album, so this really does feel like a separate project rather than just some leftover stuff from Oneirology (2011) filtered through another emcee.
