I just grabbed it after I saw the dude from theneedledrop had mentioned it a few days ago. Definitely reminds me of some of the stuff I was listening to early in the year, Blue Eyed Soul I think was what I saw the genre being labeled as, at least in some of the songs. Good find though, thanks for sharing!

Downloaded:
Penpal - Postscript (new E.P, loved their self titled debut. American Football rip off for sure but still very listenable) The Fall - Ersatz G.B (newie say no more) Kate Bush - 50 words for snow (can't wait to hear this) Bought: Journey - The Best Of Journey (2 disc)- sue me! Some of their stuff is awful but on the whole they were a great AOR band and easy to listen to. Sting - Ten Summoners Tales Almost everything since has been awful but this is one fine Pop album and still sounds good nearly 20 years later.

Cows - Effete and Impudent Snobs
I'm not expecting anything near the quality of Cunning Stunts or Sexy Pee Story, it's been bashed left, right and centre, but fuck it it's Cows. I'm bound to find something in there that rubs me up the right way. |

Found these two on CD for only €1.99 each:
Godflesh - Songs of Love and Hate (1996) Been meaning to listen to Steetcleaner but I found this CD instead and decided to give it a shot. A nice heavy, aggressive and pissed-off album. Some hip-hop-style rhythms on some of the songs add an interesting dynamic to the album and give the songs a nice heavy groove. D.O.A. - Something Better Change (1980) A brilliant punk album. It's simple and straight to the point, catchy yet aggressive, political yet doesn't take itself too seriously. Some of the faster songs even give an indication of the hardcore punk sound that was starting to form at the time. Great stuff.

Thy Catafalque - Rengeteg (2011) About once a month I go through the top 100 of the year on RYM and see what might appeal to me. This one is up in the top 10 right now and the genre tags are Progressive Metal, Avant-Garde Metal, Black Metal, and Electronic, so naturally I was intrigued. Gave it a listen and while I wouldn't agree with everyone of them, I doubt one would find themselves not enjoying it. Good album. |

I kind of doubt it but would love it if Broadrick named his after the Cohen album. Cohen's is generally dark and bleak, complete with evil biblical imagery so I suppose it's possible.
