Myrath -Tales of the Sands (2011)

I haven't listened to a lot of power or symphonic metal from this year, but this is probably one of the better albums out there. I like their blend of Middle Eastern sounds with their metal roots. They did it in such a way that doesn't seem to glaringly obvious, yet it was still noticeable, kind of like what Orphaned Land did. Also they're from Tunisia so I'm always looking to expand my collection of metal from places one wouldn't expect to find it. Recommended if you're into this kind of sound.

Nah, not quite but it did catch my eye. Clutch was what I was after. Great slow and heavy stoner blues. The album cover art and insert material are pretty cool too.

The complete peel sessions is the one to get.

I recently bought Tim by The Replacements and that Blackstar album.
