For a lot of music, rawer (if that is a word) is better. There is such a thing as overproduction and too much polish. Also I get what you mean the importance of song's carrying real messages.

I've been aware of this band for a number of years now but I've never felt pushed to check them out until now. This is a pretty good album although nothing really special. I admire the collision of crushing layers of guitar and soft introspective vocals and the music sounds really beautiful at times but the music sounds a bit samey in parts and perhaps the album is a little bit overlong. Enjoyable stuff though.

Arms and Sleepers - The Organ Hearts (2011)
I had a few of their songs before but no albums so I decided to check this one out. This is some pretty great ambient electronica with some nice trip-hop beats and an overall relaxing chilled-out feel. It kind of feels reminiscent of Air as the music has a similar vibe at times. Good stuff.
Thank you for reminding me of the new Jesu album I'm also glad you liked that Arms and Sleepers one, it's pretty good easy listening after a hard day.

A combination of luck and trawling charity and second hand shops. If I can buy a C.D for £1.00 second hand that has a small crack on the case opposed to £10 in a commercial shop I will plump for the cheaper option every time and replace the case for a few more pence.

Also whenever I buy a C.D or DVD whether brand new or used I check to see if they have multiple copies and check prices within the store. You would be surprised the difference in price between copies in a store regarding promotion and usual prices.

I recently spotted a U.K comedy DVD brand new with each of the 4 series available individually for £8 each but the box set still brand new with all 4 series @ £15. Always worth taking that extra five minutes looking time.

Early Split and Ep, bought used. The split I had never heard of and only has one DEP song. Late 90s convergence of hardcore and metal, New Jersey style.

With all the hype around here I actually thought this would be better than it was. But it was still good.
