The Soft Moon - The Soft Moon (2010)
Some nice dark and nightmarish post-punk. The very faint vocals sound like they're coming from a ghost in the depths of your attic while the icy synths and drum-machines add a tastefully gloomy atmosphere to the music. There does however seem to be far more emphasis on creating a dark atmosphere rather than the songs and a few of the tracks could have gone on a bit longer instead of stopping short but otherwise some pretty good stuff. Now where's the dry ice?

just grabbed several albums by Night Ark after hearing this track. the rest is crappy smooth jazz that i can't get into at all. this track is amazing though.

also fetched everything i could find by Ratatat. reminds me of an intstrumental version of RJD2 at his best. can't believe i never knew about them before!

William Elliott Whitmore - Field Songs (2011)

First new release I've been looking forward to in awhile... shame it's pretty mediocre :-/

Seminal Thrash band Death Angel took a sabbatical for a couple of years in the early 90's and a few members formed The Organization (had to spell it with a 'Z').

Most fans hated it but it holds up well. Decent straight ahead uncliched Metal with a little bit of experimentation. Decent enough.
