Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues Yep I finally got it. Is it as good as I thought it would be? It most certainly is. This album was certainly worth the wait and from first impressions the band have certainly grown as songwriters and musicians. It might be too early to judge yet but this could possibly be better than their debut. Fantastic album. The Antlers - Burst Apart Yet another one that I have been (im)patiently waiting for. The band have taken a different direction from Hospice but pull it off with confidence and elegance. It's certainly a more upbeat-sounding album than Hospice, even though it still does sound downbeat, but the most noticeable element is Peter Silberman's vocals which have seemed to have grown in strength, sometimes sounding like Jeff Buckley or Hayden Thorpe when hitting the high notes. Overall this is a very solid and beautiful album and yet another brilliant release in 2011.

Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings - Naturally (2005) I Learned the Hard Way is so great, but I've been playing the dickens out of it. Time for something different from this mega-talented voice. The Holmes Brothers - Simple Truths (2004) Was recommended to me by a RYM user who described it like this: "They mix up blues, soul, and country.Lots of cover songs of Willie Nelson,Gillian Welch, Collective Soul, Townes Van Zandt, Jimmy Reed, Bob Marley." Totally can't wait to check it out!

^That reminds me, I do need to get the new Antlers...I'll get that in the near future. However I just now downloaded two splits.
La Dispute/Koji - Never Come Undone Into It. Over It./Koji - IIOI/Koji Split So the common artist here is Koji, but actually I got them both for La Dispute and Into It. Over It. two of my favorite bands, and happened to really enjoy Koji's half too. Koji is a guitarist/activist who plays acoustic kind of folk-rock, plays off IIOI and La Dispute's style really well, especially IIOI.
