Au Revoir Simone - The Bird Of Music Yeah I'm such a sucker for female-fronted indie-pop. This is the 2007 album released by 3 lovely ladies playing sweet, innocent-sounding electronic indie-pop. This album sounded great on first listen and songs such as the irresistible and memorable 'Sad Song' make you go back for more. http://thecolorawesome.com/wp-conten...ht-300x300.jpg Au Revoir Simone - Still Night, Still Light The follow-up album released in 2009 has a dreamier and more experimental edge to it. The have also seemed to have grown more as songwriters. It seems to be a bit darker and more downbeat compared to The Bird Of Music and sounds more wintery compared to the more summery-sounding The Bird Of Music. Good stuff. |

Aside from the Beastie Boys discography, I downloaded two albums by a band called Bong, recommended to me by mojo. He classified them as "trance-doom", which is somewhat applicable. Either way, I dig it. Also, I grabbed Talking Heads' 77. I can't believe I didn't have it already. Oh, and I also found a new experimental Jazz trumpeter called Cuong Vu. You can listen to his latest album for free here: Leaps of Faith | Cuong Vu
