CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX - I, VIGILANTE (2010) (PROG ROCK/FOLK/POST-ROCK) Went to see them on Friday, and was pretty much blown away by them. However I hadn't added their latest release to my library beforehand, so had to do it when I got home. BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB - BEAT THE DEVIL'S TATTOO (2010) (GARAGE ROCK/ALTERNATIVE) I meant to check this out when it was released and never did. Finally got around to it today and can't really judge based on first listen. However it sounds like I'll probably be pretty happy with it. As much as I liked the country sounds of Howl, I much prefer the way they sounded on their self-titled and Baby 81, and this sounds more like those albums. MELODY GARDOT - WORRISOME HEART (2008) (JAZZ) Haven't listened to it yet. UNDERWORLD - SECOND TOUGHEST IN THE INFANTS (1996) (TECHNO/HOUSE) Likewise, yet to listen. |

I downloaded Junta by Phish this morning having read Phantasios review of it. Enjoyed it too.

They're even better live. Well worth seeing if they ever swing by your neck of the woods.

^ Yeah it had been on my list for a while, so once I saw the album mentioned in a random post I came across, I had to go get it.
THE MUSIC - SINGLES AND EPS: 2001 - 2005 (2001) (INDIE/ROCK) The bands EP's and singles, back to back, in a nifty little 2 disc set. I have two of their EPs on CD but thats all, so I'm quite glad to have this. The band also announced their plans to split recently, which saddens me. However I may be going to one of their farewell shows, maybe even their last show ever in their home city of Leeds. That would be pretty sweet. |

The Kills - Blood Pressures I've only listened to it once but it seems pretty ok. It has a nice smoky night-time feel to it and it sits alongside their other albums pretty nicely. The Magnetic Fields - Distortion I love 69 Love Songs so I had to download this. It has a little bit more of a scuzzier sound and there's some really great pop melodies as well. I like. The Radio Dept. - Clinging To A Scheme I've been meaning to get into this band for some time. I haven't listened to it yet but I'll stick it on when I get home from college.

I think it's been a few weeks since I downloaded anything. Been pretty busy but it's given me a chance to get more familiar with other stuff.
