yes yes yes!
i heard about this after reading user reviews of Neil Young's phenomenal work on the score for the phenomenal Jim Jarmusch film "Dead Man".

slow, dirty, acidic guitar work with a western twinge. very appealing.

^ I'm still working on getting into that album. I've played the whole thing through once, but intend to break it up into parts for my next listen...which I've put off for a while.

Yeah, why not? Better late than never. That's one of my all time favorite albums.

The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs
This band have been mentioned quite a lot here but i'm only getting around to checking them out now. I downloaded volume 1 and volume 2 of this collection, although my volume one appears to be missing a few tracks. This is a really enjoyable album with some nice quirky instrumentation on some tracks and some nice baritone vocals, there seems to be a bit of an Orange Juice influence in their sound. The standout tracks for me so far are 'Sweet-Lovin' Man' and 'When My Boy Walks Down The Street'. I was going to download volume 3 but I didn't want to overwhelm myself with too much music at once so I'm going to download it later in the week maybe.

I'm not really sure what to make of it yet but I'm pretty sure I like it.

The Magnetic Fields make some of the best indie-pop songs. Volume 3 is great. It some of my favorites of theirs like "It' A Crime" and "I'm Sorry I Love You."
