Found an outtakes / rarities album by one of my favorite Australian bands Hunters and Collectors... will probably have to download that one as it seems to have alot of tracks I've never heard by them!

^ Usually I'm not one for nerding out and getting video game soundtracks, but there's this one absolutely beautiful song I remember hearing on this that I was reminded of the other day, so what the hell eh.

I got this super awesome comp from Get Better! Records, it's full of great pop punk, folk punk and folk pop artists, and it's a name your price download off the label's bandcamp page. I highly recommend if you like this style to go get it, I found so many artists I'm going to get full releases of.

Been after this a good while now.
I've only got a really crappy vinyl rip but as it's never been released on CD I guess it'll have to do.

I don't understand. I've listened to three Swans albums at this point: My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky, Soundtracks for the Blind, and The Great Annihilator, in that order. I liked My Father, but Soundtracks and Annihilator were long and unpleasant. It was tough to get through both of them, and I really can't remember anything about the two albums that was distinct or interesting. Just a lot of dissonant noises that fade in and out every 2 or 6 minutes. Actually, scratch that... Gira's voice is fantastic, but it's also fantastic on My Father, which is much more manageable and interesting than their other releases. In my opinion. Perhaps my starting point skewed my opinion.

I have to say I find your description of those two albums as "a lot of dissonant noises that fade in and out every 2 or 6 minutes" very surprising. There are some amazing, quite structured and melodic songs on both those albums. "Killing for Company" off of The Great Annihilator is seriously one of my favorite songs of all time. Gorgeous instrumentation, amazing dynamic, also really depressing. It's very hard for me to imagine listening to a song like that and not finding it an least distinct sounding.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
