I didn't like it, but it was made on an iPad and free so I wasn't expecting much. Demon Days (2005) was one of those albums that raised my expectations to an unreasonable level and I think that's why I've been unable to enjoy the new Gorillaz stuff.

Got these two on CD today

Sleigh Bells - Treats
Bought it out of curiosity to see is it as good as people say it is. So far i think it's a pretty interesting mash-up of electronica, pop and rock. I might end up liking this.

The Flaming Lips - Transmissions From The Satellite Heart
Trying to fill in the gaps in my Flaming Lips collection. Can't wait to listen to this after.

Holding them to the standard of Demon Days really is unfair, lol. I liked "Revolving Doors" but that was about it. Hopefully the album afterward is better.

My personal favorite Flaming Lips album. I got into them with Yoshimi and Transmissions was my first "alt era" Lips album and I fell in love with it. If I'm in the mood for modern Lips it's Yoshimi...old school lips and it's usually Transmission. Though In A Priest Driven Ambulance is a close second.

They should have thought about that before they made an amazing album that introduced me to a lot of hip hop artists and made me realize that electronic music encompassed more than just techno.

I think people knocking on Plastic Beach is one of the most frustrating things I've had to go through this year...I think it holds up to Demon Days just fine. What the hell is everyone complaining about? Empire Ants alone is worth it.

So Demon Days blew everyone away. What did everyone want out of Plastic Beach, exactly? A change of pants afterwards?

They're talking about The Fall which is even more recent than Plastic Beach. I totally get what you're saying though because I've seen people knocking Plastic Beach and I think it's a great album and it made my top ten this year. The Fall I plan to listen to this afternoon.
