I haven't downloaded a British indie-rock album in forever, they seem to be in the same vein of Johnny Foreigner, which makes me very excited.

I don't know who this band or Johnny Foreigner are, but that's great artwork.

Psychofagist—Il Secondo Tragico Italian grindcore/jazz hybrid featuring the sax player from Zu. Crazy shit. Sounds pretty good so far. Kayo Dot—Choirs of the Eye Quiet loud quiet stuff from Tzadik. I've only given it the briefest of listens so far by I'm looking forward to diving in. Xiu Xiu—A Promise I've been meaning to check this out ever since I first saw it in a music store seven years ago and wondered what the hell an album with that kind of artwork would possibly sound like. Listened to it once today and thought it was pretty good weirdo/indie/whateveryouwanttocallit though I'm not totally sold on the dude's voice yet. Sun Ra—Visits Planet Earth I got this based on some comments about it on here recently. Not nearly as strange as I was expecting but very good. |

Loads of vinyl from various thrift stores
[sup](clickable)[/sup] The Incredible String Band - Changing Horses The Incredible String Band - The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter Trampled By Turtles - Palomino (new, not from a thrift store) The Velvet Underground Live at Max's City The Bees - Every Step's a Yes (new, not from a thrift store) The Cure - Boys Don't Cry The Cure - Faith Janis Joplin - Pearl (Been looking for this one! Mine is pretty knackered) The Dead Kennedy's - In God we Trust inc. Which is, by the way, a 45rpm album The label... Is out of center. The grooves actually continue through the label and you hardly hear it passing the stylus. Still I won't be playing this with any expensive cartridge... The Cure - Pornography I also found a floppy 5" (!) single by Bony M. Music sucks, but the vinyl itself is pretty cool to have. And then, not on the pics yet. A single of Fight for your Right by the Beastie Boys. I couldn't resist Neat, eh? Oh, the tape that's on the right reel to reel machine was from a thrift store, too. It's filled with pretty bad country music. The itself is just fine though

Whaha, I don't have a clue why you being envious makes weed want to by my friend.
I guess it's the Incredible String Band and Velvet Underground records talking. Believe me, I was VERY surprised I found them, too .

Haha, my 'great' hifi system is in the living room.
But I must say this is the one that sounds really laid back. I guess this would be the one you'd want to get stoned by. Eitherway, I don't allow anyone to smoke nearby my equipment (I fix the ****, you won't believe how much harm nicotine can do ). So I'm sorry. And besides that, really good music in a really good atmosphere via a really good sound system can make you feel really stoned. You won't believe that until you've experienced it . Music is a 100% risk-free drug. Except for the risk for electronic radiation and electrocution, probably. But don't be jealous man, you can have this in no time. It's a question of being online a lot and keeping an eye on the second hand sites. The stuff you see on the picture cost me no more than 3000 bucks. And the SL-1200 record player was probably half of that. It's worth a lot more, but all it takes to get this stuff is a lot of patience, not a lot of money .
