^^I wanted to check out Islaja as it appears as a recommendation on my last.fm pretty often, but I haven't heard of this other Finish 'folk' act.

Nice that you like my recommendations

Paavoharju is actually one of the most obscure finnish bands that I've ever come across. From what I've heard they are ascetic hippie like christians who live in a commune in the woods.

Haha You're welcome to move here any day.
I'm trying to think of some other recommendations. There is this one I think you'd enjoy since you liked paavoharju. I've mentioned this finnish post-metal band called Callisto a few times in this forum and now their guitarist/vocalist is doing a folk/ambient side-project called Weeping Pilgrim. The only problem is they haven't released anything other than two rehearsal room recordings yet. But those recordings are really promising and they have just finished recording their ep/album which the're going to release quite soon. When that happens I can talk more about it but I'm really eager to hear it myself since the guy is my hero.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Yes. The funk doesn't exist until you press play, at which time a fresh flow of funk streams into your ear. Each time you press play, new funk will be generated.

p.s. some of you may recognize this song.
