This French Avant-Prog band, close to (or belonging to) Rock In Opposition movement, has been on my 'to hear list' for a while, but thanks to one user here who mentioned them in another thread, I'm finally giving them a listen. So far this is quite good, very dramatic and cinematic. I think, after many listens when it starts to truly sink in, it will reveal all the layers that this music has in abundance.

I've heard this band's first two albums, pretty good stuff. I found it enjoyable when going to sleep, too. I haven't listened to them in a while, but I remember liking Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités best of the two.

Metric - Fantasies
Can't believe i've never listened to these guys before! This is brilliantly addictive indie rock with intelligence. I shall have this on repeat over the weekend :)

Black Rio 2: Original Samba Soul 1971-1980

A compilation CD, this is a great introduction to another side of Brazilian music that I didn't know too much about. If you like Seu Jorge's funkier stuff on albums like Samba Esporte Fino (Carolina), then I bet you'd like a lot of the music on this compilation. Samba fusion genres have been growing on me as of late, and this was a great addition.

One of my favorite songs from the album was actually in English:

Still have to listen to most of it.
There's a chance there's really bad albums in the list above ;)
Downloading is still legal where I come from, so I didn't pay for this. Worth the try.

SO excited to listen to this. I'm fairly new to Arcade Fire, and this is the first album I've bought of theirs. I've listened to the title track on Youtube and it was good enough for me to buy it. I've heard some people say this is their favourite, but some people say it's their worst, so it should be an interesting listen to say the least.

I really want to hear what you think of this album once you get a good feel for it. I personally think its a quality album but I'm really curious since you haven't bought their previous albums.

As for me.........http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-tIhXTZwJu...E/s400/CFD.jpgI haven't listened to to much of them yet but so far it has blown me away.

I definately will, I'm really excited to get into it. I've noticed a huge difference between the two songs I've heard from this and the songs I've heard from Funeral(only song I've heard from Neon Bible is No Cars Go, which I love). These songs seem a lot more laid back, whereas the older songs are lot more all over the place. I gotta say I kind of like this style a lttle bit more, but we will see how I feel when I listen to the whole album.

Also, nice pick on the Christie Front Drive album. Such an under-rated band.
