I visited my local music shop tis evening to buy the new Bees album.
The only thing I didn't buy was... Well, the new Bees album. Since they couldn't supply the vinyl, I figured I'd rather look on the internet a little more. Won't be buying the CD unless it's absolutely impossible to get the album on a Big Black Disk. Bought for about €100 this afternoon. Would love to add a picture to my posting but since I haven't managed to make 15 postings yet, I can't. So please view the attachment. What I bought is this: The Notwist - Neon Golden (2000, 2010 reissue) The Black Angels - Phosphene Dream (2010) Lee Perry's Dub Plate Mixes 1973-1979 (2010 reissue) Wolf People - Steeple (2010) Sleepy Sun - Embrace (2009) Can - Ege Bamyasi Okraschoten (1973, 2010 reissue) And then there's Rubble (sixties psychedelica compilations) 7, 8, 9 and 10. I already had 3, 4, 5 and 6. Nice. The Sleepy sun record actually arrived by mail this day, I didn't get that from the shops. And then there's a (very nice, reel shaped) disc which contains the new Bees album "Every Step's a Yes". I burned that because I couldn't get the record yet, I'll try to get that asap .

Thanks . I should tell you that Rino, who works at my music shop, forced me to listen to these albums. I liked them and bought them.
I'm not so sure about the Notwist yet though. I get the feeling I need to listen to it a bit more. I actually went to the store to get the latest album by the Bees, which they turned out not to have. I downloaded it and put it on a CD. Which is completely legal here, by the way, so I suppose I can just say that? Not like it matters, I'll be buying it on vinyl as soon as I get the chance, I'll just have to listen to the CD in the meantime.

You guys must get, this is probably the last Sun City Girls record that will released... (or atleast one that is entirely comprised of new material). So far it's on par with "Torch of the Mystics" when it comes to accessibility or maybe even more so. It feels like a proper, final farewell from the pranksters of music. |

^^This I need to hear!
Black Dice - Beaches & Canyons (2002) I've only heard Black Dice here and there, but never actually listened to albums. So far, this is not what I expected. I remember them being more noisy in the raw kind of way when I heard them, somewhere between Lightning Bolt and Wolf Eyes, if my memory serves me. This is more like experimental, psychedelic electronic music towards the noise side. Should be interesting nonetheless.
